AHM was on Sun. Crazy build-up to it I must admit. Woke up at 7 to go NUS for make-up lect, went down to King Albert's Park there for tuition after the lect, then made my way back to NUS for CO welcome tea. That's just less than half the programme I had for the day. Next up was OG outing at city hall (at first it was bugis), then followed by esther's farewell and ack's bday celebration at mushroom pot in somerset. Then, went airport to send situ off to US before following the 6A guys out to fengshan market for supper. Reached home at a niffy 12.30 thanks to hasu going out of the way to send me home. Showered, surf net for a while and went to sleep at 1.30 +am, woke up at 3.45am to prepare for the run. Went to wait for NR service only to realise that the website cheat ppl one, the last service ends at city hall at 4.30am not start. Luckily, there were 2 other runners stranded like me and we cab pool to padang. Finally started the run 5.30am. Ran a cui 2.5 hr timing but glad that i even finished it, considering the schedule i had the day b4.
One of my christian friend once told me that running was like having a convo with god. While I do not share the same religious views, I do agree that running allows you to see things differently, especially things that you are caught up with in the heat of the moment. It's kind of like Einstein's relativity, that when you move, you experience time more slowly, so there's a sort of surrealism edge to your thinking, which allows you to separate your short-term emotions from your long term hard standing values. ( this is purely my hypothesis, it is NOT scientifically proven)
One of my epiphanies actually went : You know that only one thing matters, so why bother about the rest of the questions.....
I quote from Kite Runner : "For you, a thousand times over."
