First things first, results: A for econs, A for maths and B4 for GP... When i got 13/20 for mcq and 15/25 for drq, i was resigned to getting the inevitable B for econs, but well, my essay scored an impressive 40/50 to give me 70% , A on the dot, somewhat bittersweet consolation, for i expected the A to be in physics. In any case, i've learnt the importance of 知足 and i should just be glad for what i have.

After results, the next big thing was open house prep. zj called for a comm meeting 9 days b4 the event and thts the no. of days we had to prepare the perc item "next game". The rehearsal on mon was disastrous, the one on thurs was slightly better but still not up to standard but on fri open house itself, it was quite nice... considering the time constrain we had. oh...and for the first time, i broke a stick during performance, lol... was a little stunned during the perfeormance but according to zj, i reacted quite fast so wans't much of a prob...

Open house itself was quite fun, much better than the one i went for last year, at least i think so.... Bridge and CO booths were located quite close to each other so just hopped around btw the 2. Nearing the end of open house, me and xl were sitting at the bridge booth doing some partnership bidding when 4 pro looking guys decided tht they wanted a game... 2 of them sat down at our table and xl dealt the cards. My RHO opened 1NT and i asked LHO if it is a strong opening, he replied something like "7-7" which i couldn't make sense of. Played safe and passed. 1NT was passed out, as i was about do the opening lead, my RHO threw down a lead and seemingly oblivious to my shock, smugly announced "No trump, my lead". Me and xl were stunned momentarily, but was enlightened shortly. As the game proceded, we realise tht they were playing "floating bridge" with fixed partners, the irony.... And we down their 1NT by at least 2 due to bad play on their part... lol, next year, the word "contract" had better be there...
